Our Process

We will provide appropriate training for your Associates followed by the continuous improvement process known as kaizen. We will work with your Associates to determine the root causes of your problems. We use fundamental tools of paper, pencil, and stopwatches to record direct observations.

Once we fully understand the problem we will coach your Associates through the kaizen process of experimentation. We thoroughly address concerns from each Associate affected by changes in the process. Confirmation of the kaizen is measured and adjustments are appropriately made. We work with the Team to ensure standards are created and training occurs on each shift.

After the activity we follow up to ensure proper support for sustainability.

Why paper and pencil?

We always get the question, “Why do I have to use paper and pencil?” “I can pull up a report and crank this out on a spreadsheet at my desk.”

The fundamental concept is everyone can use paper and pencil which means everyone, can do kaizen. It symbolizes the basics of watching a process until we fully understand what is the root cause of a problem. The purpose of the pencil is to show nothing is permanent and it should be changed as the process is improved.
